Pearls should be the last thing on and first thing off. Pearls are more vulnerable to chemicals found in cosmetics, hair spray, hair dye and perfume, and they should never be exposed to chlorine in swimming pools, hot tubs or showers. Pearls should only be cleaned with a soft cloth moistened with water and the little bit of ivory soap.
